Shahrukh Khan's show 'Fauji' will be telecast again on Doordarshan, viewers will be able to watch full episodes
Mumbai, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's first big TV show 'Fauji', which came in 1989, is now being re-telecast on Doordarshan channel. All 13 episodes of the show will be shown in it.
Shahrukh Khan's first TV serial Fauji is being re-telecast starting from Thursday. The episodes will be telecast on DD National every Monday to Thursday, allowing fans to watch the show again.
Doordarshan Director General Kanchan Prasad said, 'Fauji is a classic, which has been very popular among the audience. We are waiting for 'Fauji 2'. He told that re-telecasting the episodes of Fauji is a perfect way to reconnect with the roots of this show and celebrate its success and popularity before Fauji 2 comes out.
Fauji was directed by Rajkumar Kapoor and he gave Shah Rukh Khan his first big break with this show. 'Fauji' is a show based on the training of an Indian Army commando regiment. This was Shah Rukh Khan's television debut and the superstar played the role of Lieutenant Abhimanyu Rai.
The show featured Rakesh Sharma as Major Vikram Vicky Rai, Amina Sherwani as Kiran Kochhar and Manjula Avatar as Captain Madhu Rathore. Initially, Rakesh was supposed to play the lead character in the show while Shah Rukh was supposed to play the second lead character.
After Fauji, Shah Rukh Khan was seen in the TV series 'Circus' directed by Aziz Mirza. He then appeared in 'Idiot', 'Umeed', 'Wagle Ki Duniya' and the English language film 'In Which Annie Gives It Those Once'.
The superstar made his Bollywood debut in 1992 with the film 'Deewana'. He worked with actors like Divya Bharti and Rishi Kapoor in the film. The film proved to be a blockbuster for Shah Rukh Khan's career. The 'King Khan' has worked in over 100 films and is one of the biggest stars of Indian cinema.
Shahrukh Khan has been honoured with many awards including Padma Shri by the Government of India, Order of Arts and Letters and Legion of Honour by the Government of France.
